Prepared for online sales with NAV
It goes without saying that running a business like Safti efficiently, with such a large size, requires a high-performance IT system. Since November 11, 2013, Safti has been running on Microsoft Dynamics NAV. “In TCOG, who supplied the system, we found a partner with whom it is pleasant to work,” explains CFO Trui Lagae.
The search for a new IT supplier
The server used at Safti, which ran purchasing, stock, accounting, invoicing and customer data, dated back to 2005 and started having problems in January 2012. An IT coach advised them to look for a new supplier to implement a completely new, user-friendly system. Together with the managers, Barbara Braeckman and Tom Vanderstuyft, the search for a new IT system to manage the DIY store began.
“User-friendliness, the ability to quickly train our cashiers and possibilities with a view to setting up a webshop were key factors in their choice,” says Trui. After a long search, they chose software supplier TCOG at Safti.
User-friendly IT system
As CFO, Trui Lagae was very closely involved in the implementation of the new IT system. TCOG installed Microsoft Dynamics NAV, as well as the add-on LS Retail. The new system was perceived as more user-friendly, and training the sales and cash register employees was therefore a piece of cake. And just that was one of Safti’s most important selection criteria. “In principle, we’re on the right track with this system for years to come. Everything changes very quickly these days, of course, but with improvements and updates we should be able to use this system for many years to come. And it gives us the opportunity to prepare the webshop so that we can serve our customers even better,” concludes Trui Lagae.
